Lets face it just about half the planet is out of work. And the other half really doesn't give a crap. It's enough to make you sick. Or at least, vent. Welcome to the world of The Bittermans. It's not just a comic strip, it's a place where a bunch of pissed off people can share their stories with other pissed off people. Let the BitterFest begin.
I just saw this comic strip and thought of me and everyone I know. Seems like no one is working, and everyone is cutting back. I only sneeze out of one nostril in hopes my doctor will only charge me half.
ReplyDeleteYou're not that far from wrong. I recently got laid off from Blue Cross/Blue Shield and I can tell you it's not out of the question that they might accept one nostril and deny the other.
ReplyDeleteIt's nice to know I'm not suffering alone! I've been out of work for 3 months now. I can't even get a bad job. But I do have a good tip for everyone out there. If you walk around Costco you'll find someone at the end of each aisle waiting for you with a plastic spoon filled with free food.
ReplyDeleteWell, I actually have a job AND health insurance, and my wife (finally) got one after six long months without one. Hopefully, she'll be on her own plan soon again. Why you ask?
ReplyDeleteHere's how things played out when her company went Chapter 7... Obama with his great "let's help the unemployed plan" denied her COBRA request because I had health insurance. In short, WE were penalized because of my job.
What should have happened was, she and I were both paying roughly $250 a month each, but because Obama is an fast talker, instead, I had to take her on my plan instead of her being able to stay at $250/mo. with COBRA. Total = $500/month for both of us. That's what SHOULD have happened. Here's what ACTUALLY happened thanks to our President...
My health plan, in turn, penalized me and jacked us up to $825 a month for their Superior Plan which I had. The, Health Net decided that charging me an extra $325/month wasn't enough, so they decided to raise my rate to almost $1100 for me to keep the Superior Plan, while raising the co-pays from $35 to $50 as well for "specialists." NOTE: Any doctor but your PCP (Primary Care Physician) is a "specialist."
They then decided to cut the percentage they pay for prescriptions as well, and we all know prescriptions cost a fortune. Therefore, I was forced to give up my Superior Plan and had to get the crappy HMO Plan and stay in network which many of my doctors weren't in.
Here's the kicker: Not only does the govt. take roughly over 40 percent of my paycheck deducting my taxes and healthcare fees, but this is AFTER I have them take out an additional $100/month from my check for state and federal each month. PLUS, I claim single (zero dependants) and I'm married so I won't owe at the end of the year. I also prepay roughly $3K per quarter and yet STILL OWE thousands every year. Now I ask you, how the f*ck is that possible? Last year I had to put $3K in an IRA as well to reduce my taxes and I still owed regardless.
So now when people ask me what I do for work, I say: "I work for Obama."

Granted this site allows one to vent, and you certainly seemed to take advantage of it, but I do hope you save your energy from here on out so when you come to realize Obama had nothing to do with your unemployment, you'll have the strength to pull the lever and vote for him when he runs again for a second term.

Isn't this supposed to be a funny site? Shouldn't political venting be limited to political sites. From now on, I will read the strip but NOT the comments, at least none signed RS. Does he give Obama credit for the strip along with the blame for his health insurance company screwing him? Does he realize that the fact he has to add his wife to his plan rather than her getting cobra was that way when W was in office? Does he realize how lucky he is to have health insurance? Jeeeeez
ReplyDeleteIf the Bittermans married the Bettermans, they'd be doing a Bit Better.
